Sergei Shmatko, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation and Al – Abdullah Al – Ahmad As – Sabah, Oil Minister of Kuwait signed two agreements in financial sphere. In particular agreement between Russia and Kuwait “Treaty on Avoiding Double Taxation and the Prevention of Tax Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income and Capital” was signed in Moscow. There was also signing of a “Treaty on Mutual Security of Investments” between Russia and Kuwait .

Sergei Shmatko, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation and Al – Abdullah Al – Ahmad As – Sabah, Oil Minister of Kuwait signed two agreements in financial sphere. In particular agreement between Russia and Kuwait “Treaty on Avoiding Double Taxation and the Prevention of Tax Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income and Capital” was signed in Moscow. There was also signing of a “Treaty on Mutual Security of Investments” between Russia and Kuwait . On the signing ceremony Mr. Shmatko said the agreements should be performed without fail. He also added : “If Kuwait companies have any problems in Russia, we will sort them out” . Minister informed that we have achieved an agreement concerning creation of two intergovernmental subcommissions on energy, oil and gas, as well as on scientific-technical cooperation. According to Mr. Shmatko in 2009 trade turnover between Russia and Kuwait has increased at 1,5 – fold compared to 2008. Minister also added that in 2009 a figure in amount of $ 77 million was fixed as the highest performance in 6 years.
